This May, Corvus is proud to spotlight an exceptional Franchise Owner who has made an impressive mark in just over a year—Mr. Darvy Speed of Corvus of Northwest Arkansas! With a background in warehouse production, Mr. Speed made a bold career shift into the commercial cleaning industry, and we are thrilled he chose to do it with Corvus.

Hector’s story began in October of 2015 when he decided to step into the world of business ownership. At the time, his background was primarily in raw poultry production – a field far removed from the janitorial and cleaning industry. Despite his lack of experience in this new domain, Hector brought with him an invaluable set of skills: a robust work ethic and an unwavering determination to succeed. These traits have been the cornerstone of his journey and the reason behind his enduring success.

From the outset, Mr. Guzman demonstrated a remarkable commitment to his work. Impressively, he continues to personally clean the very first account he ever secured eight years ago, showcasing his dedication and loyalty to his clients. This level of commitment is rare and speaks volumes about Hector’s character and his approach to business.

Hector’s success is not a solo endeavor. Alongside him is his wife, Clara, who has been an integral part of the journey. Together, they make a formidable team, not just in cleaning and maintaining high standards of service, but also in promoting their business and the Corvus brand. In recognition of his exceptional contributions, Hector was awarded a 75-inch LG big screen TV last year for referring the most new Corvus business owners in 2022. Mr. Jaime Barboza started his Corvus franchise in 2018, since then it has become a family affair with his wife and two children working with him. Mr. Barboza and his wife, Maria, initially started their business to make extra money to support their family, but in the four years since establishing their franchise, the team has become one of the top grossing Franchises in the Corvus of Northwest Arkansas market.

“Jaime has intentionally grown his business slowly and sustainably while executing on every level. From maintaining strong customer relationships to providing a high level of service, Jaime focuses on doing good business,” said Mr. Aaron Cambou, Regional Director of Corvus of Northwest Arkansas.

Jaime started off with smaller accounts but has increased his capacity and now specializes in servicing large accounts like car dealerships. Issues rarely arise, but if they do, they are addressed quickly and Jaime follows through to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Mr. Cambou describes Mr. Barboza as tenacious, well-coordinated, and a wonderful communicator – all necessary qualities of a strong business owner.

The Corvus team is happy to often see the whole family stop in on Revenue Days, though at times Mr. Barboza can’t make it because he is still maintaining a full-time day job. Mr. Barboza and his family are hardworking and dedicated Franchise Owners who Corvus is proud to partner with. Thank you, Barboza family!

Corvus of Northwest Arkansas sure got lucky when Mrs. Maribel Cruz opened the doors to her franchise in 2015. Her dedication and determination were clear from the start, and she continuously proves herself to be a valuable member of the Corvus community.

While we have been lucky enough to call Mrs. Cruz a partner for over five years, she has been in the janitorial business since 2008, and her experience shows. Mrs. Cruz recognizes that customers are paying to outsource their cleaning and, therefore, expect high-quality work.

Providing the best possible cleaning service is Mrs. Cruz’s top priority. She holds her business to a very high standard and spends countless hours perfecting her craft. When interacting with customer accounts, Mrs. Cruz acts with the utmost professionalism.

“She understands that the janitorial business is a marathon, not a sprint,” says Corvus of Northwest Arkansas Regional Director Mr. Justin Simmering. This mindset, in addition to a strong work ethic, has enabled Mrs. Cruz to turn her Corvus Franchise into a scalable, full-time business.

To date, she has twelve employees whom she manages daily. Mrs. Cruz holds herself, as a leader, to the same high standards she holds her business to. While she believes each employee represents her entire body of work, Mrs. Cruz acknowledges that they are only as good as the training they receive.

When Mrs. Cruz is not running a successful cleaning business, you will likely find her spending time with family, cooking delicious meals, or attending church.
