As we welcome a new year filled with opportunities and growth, Corvus is proud to spotlight a Franchise Owner whose dedication and success embody the values we hold dear—Ms. Janis Castaneda of Corvus of Lexington! Ms. Castaneda has been a valued Franchise Owner for an incredible 15 years, making a lasting impact on both her customers and fellow franchisees.

Passion for Clean Spaces and Business Ownership

When asked why she loves being a Corvus Franchise Owner, Ms. Castaneda shared, “I love organization and cleaning, and I truly appreciate a clean space. I know many of my clients also feel that same joy when their spaces are spotless.”

Her journey into business ownership stemmed from a desire for independence. Owning a Corvus franchise has given her the freedom to control her own schedule and spend quality time at home with her family, where she finds the most joy.

A Commitment to Building Relationships

A key reason for Ms. Castaneda’s long-term success is her commitment to fostering strong relationships—with her clients, fellow franchise owners, and Corvus staff.

“She focuses on building relationships with clients and Corvus staff. She has been in one account for ten years and is so close with some of the employees there that they give her birthday cards!” says her daughter, Marlin Castaneda.

Beyond her own business, Ms. Castaneda is known for mentoring fellow franchise owners, offering guidance and support to those looking to grow. She has even led training sessions to help others improve, demonstrating her leadership and dedication to the Corvus community.

Imagine opening your own business and finding that you are in better shape, both in mind and body, than you were when working in hard manual labor. That is exactly the experience of this month’s Franchise Owner Spotlight, Dee Smith, with Corvus of Lexington. Clint Smith, Regional Director of the Lexington market, wanted to feature this Franchisee for the month of November.

Mr. Smith has been with Corvus Janitorial for over ten years, having opened his business in August of 2013. He said he had his doubts when he signed up to open his franchise. He had heard some negative comments about janitorial franchises in the past, but after getting to know the Corvus staff, he felt much better about his decision. Mr. Smith likes the family atmosphere of the company and notes that, “not everything is perfect, but neither are family relationships.”

Mr. Smith enjoys being his own boss in an industry and company that has a lot of potential for growth. He is one of the top ten high-capacity Franchise Owners in his market and finds one of his favorite parts of the business is building relationships, especially with his customers. He also appreciates that this isn’t a typical nine-to-five position and it’s not as physically demanding as his previous jobs.

Mr. Smith’s approach to business and his success in the Corvus Janitorial Franchise System exemplify the principle of “work smarter, not harder.” It’s evident that he has harnessed these principles to create a thriving business that not only benefits him but also contributes to the Corvus rand as a whole.
